Her Journey

Long before addiction had a name in her life, Evangelist Stewart was facing deep personal trials, surrounded by poor influences. She was introduced to marijuana first — and later, unknowingly, to crack cocaine through marijuana that had been laced without her knowledge.

What followed was a battle she carried silently. Professionally, she was able to hold a job and keep up appearances, becoming skilled at wearing a mask while addiction quietly took hold of her life.

During this season, she embezzled $30,000 from a well-known insurance agency in 1989. She was never charged by the bank or the insurance company, and although her employment was terminated, she was — through the grace of God — kept on payroll for 90 days to cover the cost of her treatment.

In 1988, she accepted Christ into her life, and through Him began her deliverance from addiction. But deliverance, like sobriety, doesn't happen overnight — it's a journey, walked one day at a time.

The following year brought new setbacks, including a suicide attempt. But God had bigger plans for her life. More trials followed, beginning in 2009 — a Stage 3 CKD diagnosis, a decade on insulin, six toe amputations, and blindness in one eye. But God kept healing her: her CKD stabilized without dialysis, her A1C dropped from 12 to 6.0 with no medication at all, and her sight was restored enough to drive.

Accomplishments After Deliverance

• Bachelor's Degree in Business Management, University of Phoenix (2010).
• Board Certified Mental Health Coach (2022), pursuing full Board Certification in 2025.
• Retired in December 2024 after 35 years as a Human Resources professional, including 20 years in management.
